KWAR just released our March real estate report for 2022.

The average sale price for all property types is now $960k.
This is up nearly 25.5% year to year, with a single detached average sale over the $1 million mark at $1,132,637.
There were 1,131 new listings in March 2022 with an average of only eight days average to sell. There were also 725 properties sold in March 2022.

Some good news for Waterloo and Sustainable. A new clean economy cluster map was launched for Waterloo Region.

Check out this article from BlogTO about Ontario cities are seeing larger home price increases than Toronto.

Barrie tops the list with price growth coming in around 35 per cent in 2021, followed by London and Kitchener-Waterloo over 30 per cent.

Kingston, Hamilton-Burlington, Oakville and Ottawa are all just under 30 per cent. Toronto's growth is one of the lowest on the list close to Mississauga at around 20 per cent growth.

KWAR just released the February real estate report for 2022.🏠

The average selling price for residential is over a million.
Condos are now $572,731.

The average sale price for detached is now $1,214,067.

This is up nearly 33.6% year to year.

There were 806 new listings in February with an average of only eight days average to sell. There were also 600 properties sold in February 2022.

Omicron COVID-19 variant likely to add fuel to real estate fire, realtors say.

The average price of a property in the GTA jumped 17.8 per cent in 2021 compared with 2020, according to the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB). The average price of a detached house in the 416 area code rose 16.2 per cent in the same period.

TRREB chief market analyst Jason Mercer notes that tight market conditions prevailed and that lack of inventory pushed prices higher.

In Cambridge, 84-unit townhouse condos aren’t built yet but already 2,500 people are interested in buying them.

Lack of inventory in the area is causing extreme interest in the project without even knowing what the prices are.

The provincial government recently struck a housing affordability task force and Tim Hudak, CEO with the Ontario Real Estate Association sits at the table.

Megan Bell, president of the Kitchener -Waterloo Association of Realtors, said the new build market is just as competitive as buying resale homes. It could be two years before there are changes in the market
